Labour union TEK has their own student liaison, who strongly co-operates with the board of Tutti ry, and will also send their greetings.

Chair of the Board

Congratulations on being accepted to university, and a very warm welcome to Vaasa!

My name is Piia Ala-Hakuni, and I’m the Chair of the Tutti’s Board this year. This autumn, I’ll be starting my fourth year studying Industrial Engineering and Management. I’ve been actively involved in Tutti throughout most of my studies and this is my second year in the board.

For me, the best part of studying in Vaasa has been all the wonderful people I’ve met and the unforgettable experiences I’ve had along the way. My biggest piece of advice is to be open-minded and get involved in student life from the very beginning. It’s a great way to make friends, try new things, and create memories that will stay with you long after graduation.

Your first academic year will begin with orientation weeks, where you’ll get to know the campus, university services, and your fellow students. Tutti plays an active role during orientation and also organizes its own events throughout the programme. These events are a great opportunity to meet other students, get to know the people behind your student association, and learn more about student traditions and life in Vaasa.

Remember that the Tutti’s Board and your tutors are here to support you. We have a large group of people who are always happy to help if you have any questions or run into any challenges.

If there’s anything you’re wondering about your studies, student life, living in Vaasa, or anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can always come and have a chat with me or send me a message on Telegram: @piia_alahakuni.

University is a unique time in life, full of opportunities, experiences, and friendships that can last a lifetime. Make the most of it and enjoy the journey!

We’re excited to have you join the Tutti community, and can’t wait to meet you in the autumn!

Culture and Fresher Rep.

Hi there!

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS on your study place! Welcome to Vaasa and especially to Tutti!

I’m Wilppu, your Culture and Fresher Representative! I’m a third-year Automation and Computer Science student, and I’ve been involved in student organization activities for almost my entire time at university. Through Tutti, I’ve found both fun little things to do in my free time and great friends <3

I’m already looking forward to meeting all of you and jumping into the hustle and bustle of freshers weeks. Make the most of those first weeks, keep an open mind, and throw yourselves into it completely, because after all, you’re only a fresher once! Freshers weeks are going to be amazing and packed with all kinds of fun activities!!

As the Culture and Fresher Representative, I’m responsible for introducing you to Tutti's culture as well as familiarizing you with the traditions of teekkari culture.

I am here for you, our freshers <3

I’ll be hanging around the freshers week events as much as I can, and you can recognize me by the yellow cape with the Tutti logo on the back. You can also find me at Tuttis, Tutti’s very own clubroom in Ankkuri. If you have any questions, thoughts, or just want to chat, come say hi! I’ll answer your questions to the best of my ability :).

See you in the autumn!! <3

Rep. of Educational Affairs

Hello, freshers, and a warm welcome to Vaasa, the University of Vaasa, and to Tutti!
My name is Anni Lehtonen, and I’m in my fourth year of studying Automation and Information Technology. This year, I’m serving as the Representative of Educational Affairs at Tutti, more casually known as KoPo!

As KoPo, my role is to represent Tutti in all things related to education, such as meetings with faculty and university staff. I’m also responsible for collecting feedback twice a year, compiling it, and presenting it both to staff and to students.

All improvement in education starts with feedback, so please remember to respond to course evaluations and Tutti’s feedback surveys and let me know directly if you spot any areas for improvement in your studies! The best way to reach me is by email at kopo@tutti.fi or on Telegram at @annilehtonen.

You've chosen an amazing place to study, Vaasa truly wins people over with its strong sense of community and interdisciplinary spirit. Tutti is one of the most fantastic communities you could hope to be part of!

There’s a lot to do here as a student, with events organized by various associations and the student union. I strongly encourage you to take part in anything that sparks even a little interest.

As a city, Vaasa is great for students, it’s easy to get around and the people are friendly. The local teekkari culture (student engineer culture) in Vaasa is also something special, combining tradition with fresh ideas and a fun-loving attitude.

Wishing each of you an amazing start to your studies, see you in the fall!

TEK Student Liaison

Hi and huge congratulations on your study place! You have chosen an awesome place to study!

I'm Jonathan Kivimäki, a fifth-year information technology student. I also serve as the student liaison for TEK in Vaasa, better known as "Tykki". TEK is a trade union for, academic engineers, architects, and natural scientists. This might sound unfamiliar and new right now, but don't worry! I will introduce myself to you during the very first weeks of your studies, which is when you will hear more about this.

You are starting a new and exciting phase in your life. I highly recommend jumping fully into student life and enjoying everything it brings with it. Everyone's study path is slightly different, but definitely memorable! At Tutti, we do things with a twinkle in our eye, and soon you'll find you have already made lifelong memories and new friends. But occasionally, it's also worth studying.

In the autumn, you will put on your own overalls for the first time and you might notice that a belt is an essential part of this student uniform. The legendary TEK overall belt connects you to a nationwide network of technology professionals, so you will be recognized wherever you decide to represent in your overalls. You can get the TEK overall belt by joining as a TEK student member for free. By joining TEK, you are also advancing your future career, as we help you land the best jobs already during your studies!

The best way to reach me is on Telegram at @jonathankojo or by email at jonathan.kivimaki@tek.fi, and of course at the TEK office on campus, also known as Tekkis! Autumn will be here fast and I can't wait to see you and get to know you!

Until then, let's enjoy the summer!
